Kris Bellingar, inventor and producer of the Fun Time Tummy Time Stand, has worked in special education for over 40 years. She spent most of her career as a primary service provider doing home visits, evaluations, IFSP’s, IEP’s, transitioning children to 3 year old programs, facilitating parent-child playgroups and all things Early On. During her time, she saw a huge increase in Positional Plagiocephaly, Torticollis, and an overall struggle of babies with Tummy Time. She started researching Tummy Time products and found that the most frequent products were the tummy time mats. While there are amazing tools, they can be frustrating when a baby first starts spending time on their belly and can not lift their heads well against gravity. They are not strong enough to interact with the items that hang down, and the arches and supports can get in the parent’s way when trying to position their babies. Kris wanted something that could support vision development as well as free up her hands so she could help position infants successfully on their tummies. After months of brainstorming with her husband, whose life career has been manufacturing, The Fun Time Tummy Time Stand was born! Together, they created something free standing and easy to move that works with an infant's vision and motor skills. Kris wanted a mirror for visual recognition and transparent panels so babies could see through it.
